Olesko Castle is one of the most significant fortifications in Eastern Europe. Its history is filled with battles and changes of ownership, often decided by the sword, wealth, or marriage alliances. Driving along the Kyiv–Chop highway, it is impossible not to notice the imposing silhouette of this castle. Today, its exhibition features icons, priceless works of art, sculptures, medieval furniture, tapestries, and other household items from that era.
Zolochiv Castle is a monument of national historical and cultural significance. Its architecture harmoniously combines defensive and residential elements. The castle withstood numerous attacks by Cossacks, Tatars, and Turks. On its grounds stands the Chinese Palace, which exhibits works of art from Eastern countries. One of its unique features is a set of mysterious stone blocks with ancient inscriptions, likely left by the Knights Templar. These stones are considered magical and believed to grant wishes.
Pidhirtsi Castle is one of the most beautiful Renaissance palaces in Europe, built in the 17th century. Its rich architecture and decoration emphasize its original purpose as a residence for the elite of that time. Today, restoration works are ongoing, but the picturesque ‘Italian’ park still offers unforgettable impressions.
